A New, Old Journey for Dragon Ball Z Kakarot

The original Dragon Ball took place before the events of Dragon Ball Z, featuring Goku’s childhood up to his teenage years. Very few Dragon Ball games allow the players to explore both OG Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. The main focus is Goku as a kid or an adult. That problem seemed to have faded away with the new support from Bandai Namco. The new DLC for Dragon Ball Z Kakarot will let players finally play as teenage Goku.

Kakarot’s Growth

Follow Kakarot on his journey

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot was released on January 16, 2020, as a faithful reimagining of the Dragon Ball anime. It was developed by CyberConnect 2 and Bandai Namco for the PS4 and Xbox One.

What makes this game stand out from other Dragon Ball games is the free exploration of the Dragon Ball world. Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Fighterz, Budokai Tenkaichi series, and others mainly focus on recreating thematic battles. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot emphasizes interacting with various characters in the open Dragon Ball world, including Nam, Launch, Pilaf, Frieza’s forces, Karin, and many others.

DLC Suppport For Kakarot

Chaos at the World Tournament

The new DLC, “Chaos at the World Tournament,” will cover Goku preparing for the 23rd World Tournament to face Piccolo Jr, son of King Piccolo. It’s included in the second season pass, along with “Bardock: Alone Against Fate.” Similar to Bardock’s story, there may be more faithful surprises that wait within teenage Goku’s journey. Bandai Namco is still hiding one more DLC to finish the second season pass.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot has been improving by portraying different perspectives of Dragon Ball and recreating chaotic worlds. Season pass one has given such spectacular journeys of Dragon Ball Super and the future. Season Pass two has been focusing a lot on the history of Dragon Ball. The last DLC may have a unique focus on kid Goku meeting Gohan. Another idea is the end of DBZ with Uub. The game is worthwhile for fans that long to explore its colorful worlds and face dastardly villains head-on.
